I used to feel that too, I get you. But at some point in life, as I grow older and matured, it feels quite alright. I've come to like growing up, being more aware of my surroundings and experiencing a lot of things, being able to reminiscene and talk about things. It is fun. Imagine being able to go everywhere and do anything you like without the need for permission from your parents. Of course it comes with responsibility, but still.. it is liberating and exciting. It is okay to be afraid of growing up. Often times, I am still afraid of losing myself during the process. That is why it is good to know what kind of adult you want to be, what jobs, what kind of relationship you want, etc early on. Those things can and, most probably, will change as you age but being able to look back and weigh which value is better for you is amazing. Maybe your future self will not be in such a great place and need you to remind her/him of what is important in life and why you do all the things you do. I am still in the process of growing up too, I hope we can make it to the end in a good condition and we're able to meet a good end. Good luck!
